Beach Vacation Packing List

As someone who lives by the beach I will let you know the best items to pack for next vacation!

Anything flowy and easy to remove would be ideal for the beach. Contrary to popular belief, a beach coverup is not necessary unless wanted. Frequent beach visitors notice any flowy dress or shorts will do the trick.

  • Pack at least 2 bikinis for every week of your vacation, make sure to rinse and wring before hanging to dry between uses
  • I would recommend 3 to 5 dresses of different styles, because after a sunburn or after being under the blazing sun all day, a loose dress you can just slip on and go is nice
  • Jeans are not necessary, so I would recommend going out of your comfort zone, to wear wide legged pants, jumpsuits, and rompers
  • Crop tops or loose blouses are recommended if you’d like to bring any shirts, ideally anything easy to put on and take off
  • For shoes, any kind of sandals are the best option overall. I would not recommend packing sneakers unless you plan to exercise or run. A single pair of neutral heels will work with any outfit in your vacation
  • For jewelry, I would recommend to only bring fake lightweight jewelry in the case someone tries to rob you, it won’t hurt your wallet
  • For Pajamas 2 to 3 pairs is enough , tank top and short sets would be ideal to sleep comfortably
  • Pack as much underwear as you can, double the amount of underwear you normally wear to account for trips to the beach or pool and for possibly not finding a bathroom in time (I am not talking from personal experience)
  • Socks are the least important in the whole list so only pack 1 or 2 pairs at most
  • Pack 1 ball cap and 1 floppy hat for sun tanning or simply keeping the sun away from your eyes
  • Make sure to pack 1 or 2 pairs of your favorite sunglasses, I can’t promise you’ll remember to wear them but you can try

Hair and Makeup

  • Curling or straightening iron
  • Blow dryer (If hotel does not provide one)
  • Travel makeup bag
  • Skincare products such as Cleansers, serums, and moisturizer
  • Lotion (Hotels tend to provide small bottles)
  • Hair brush
  • Hairspray, if needed

  • A mini handheld fan for extra hot summer days
  • RFID protective travel wallet
  • Only credit cards, in the case someone tries to rob you and takes a credit card you can lock or cancel the card or get your money back, which would be more difficult with a debit card
  • Bring cash in both currencies, if traveling internationally. Make sure to keep both separate along with coins
  • SUNSCREEN! The most important item in the list for people of all ages, I would recommend to wear it daily and reapply at least every 2 hours regardless of age or if on vacation

  • Any daily medication
  • Allergy pills
  • Tylenol or Ibuprofen
  • Birth control, if applicable
  • Bandages and ointment, for any emergencies
